Rules for Booths:

  1. Education Exhibits are to be in place by 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024.

  2. Placement and set up may be done between 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 6th; 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7th; and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8th, 2024.  The building is unattended at other hours and is not available for placement and set-up of booths before judging. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

  3. Educational booths in the junior division shall be any youth exhibit with an educational theme of choice.  Example: 4-H clubs, Scouts Clubs, or any school organization of any Nevada County schools. 

  4. Education booths in the senior division shall be any exhibit done by non-profit or community service organization with the theme of their choice.

  5. Promotional booths will be considered non-profit or community service-oriented organizations like Cattleman's, SOS, HIPPY, ABC, church groups, and etc.

  6. All other booths will be considered Commercial Booths.

  7. The Commercial Booth - Awarded Ribbons only.

  8. Booths will be judged by the following score card:

 

Component - 15 Points Possible

  • Appropriateness of Theme - 5 points

  • Educational or Promotional Message - 5 points

  • Message Suited for Viewing Audience - 5 points

Presentation - 50 Points Possible

  • Attracts Attention - 10 points

  • Title of Exhibit - 10 points

  • Design (Good Choice of Color & Visual) - 20 points

  • Printed Visuals (Appropriate Size, Placement, Neat, Easy to Read) - 10 points

 

Effectiveness - 35 Points Possible

  • Message Accurate, Concise, Simple - 15 points

  • Educational/Promotional Effectiveness (Increases Knowledge, Changes Attitudes, and Creates a Desire for Learning) - 20 points
