MISCELLANEOUS RULES

IN NO CASE SHALL THE NEVADA COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION OR ANY OF ITS OFFICERS OR DIRECTORS, BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, INJURY, DEATH, DISEASE, THEFT, LOSS OR DEATH OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY, RABBITS OR OTHER CAUSE TO ANY PROPERTY WHILE ON THE FAIRGROUNDS. THE MANAGEMENT ASSUMES  NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROPERTY BROUGHT UPON THE FAIRGROUNDS. IF PROPERTY OWNERS OR OTHERS INTERESTED IN THE PROPERTY DESIRE PROTECTION AGAINST LOSS, DAMAGE OR INJURY FROM ANY CAUSE THEY MUST MAKE THEIR OWN ARRANGEMENTS AND PAY FOR SUCH INSURANCE.

Where premiums are paid on a point basis, the number of points awarded for each place is indicated in each respective class in the catalog. The points will be totaled to ascertain all the points in a department. The total number of points awarded within a department will then be divided into the total amount of points allotted to the department. This amount multiplied by the number of points awarded to a particular item is the premium which will be paid. For example, if the value of a point is found to be $1.10 and the animal is awarded 20 points, the premium will be $22.00.

Although precautions will be taken, the management assumes no responsibility for any article lost or damaged in any manner or for any personal injury received by any exhibitor, visitor, or worker. Articles left more than 30 days following the fair will be discarded.

All exhibitors and operators of concessions of any nature will be required to keep their places or stall in a sanitary condition during the entire Fair.

Exhibits must be entered through the committee in charge.

Competitions are open to all residents of Nevada County, Extension Homemakers Clubs, 4-H Clubs, FCLA, and FFA organizations and students in Nevada County school systems.

The Fair Management shall have supervision and control of all exhibits during the Fair and reserves the right to control signs, advertising matter, and arrangements of exhibit for property harmony and attractive appearance.

The Fair reserves the right to reject or accept conditionally any exhibit before or after the entry is made.

All articles for exhibition must be entered by the producer, breeder or owner.

All non-animal exhibits must be entered by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12th, 2023,  including all baked goods. All exhibits must be in place in accordance with the applicable time stated for the various categories listed on the schedule of events.

Judging of the Educational Buildings exhibits will take place beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12th, 2023. DURING THIS TIME THE BUILDINGS WILL BE CLOSED. Only authorized personnel will be allowed in the buildings at this time.

In cases where an exhibitor has no competition, the judges reserve the right to place such an exhibit as he or she sees proper.
